Chronicle of Russian lies: fakes about the situation in the Donbass on February 21

The Information Resistance group continues to monitor the activities of Russian propagandists, who have become especially active in recent days amid of the aggravation of the situation in the Donbass, mass provocations by terrorists and special services against the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In this article, we expose the fake for Russian propaganda for February 21.

FAKE #1 Solid lies in the Security Council of the Russian Federation

In February 21, a meeting of the Security Council was held in the Russian Federation, which was broadcast on all Russian TV channels allegedly “live” at 17:00. However, judging by the watch of the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Sergei Shoigu, the meeting took place much earlier – in the photo the time is 12:47.

At the same time, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin made an interesting confession: “We have been preparing for a reaction to the recognition of people’s republics for several months now.” Thus, the head of the Russian government admitted that provocations against Ukraine in the Donbas had been planned for a long time.

FAKE #2 Shelling of the Russian border checkpoint

The FSB announced the destruction of a building that belonged to the Russian border checkpoint on the morning of February 21. Propagandists showed footage allegedly from the accident site, which shows a destroyed one-story building surrounded by trees.

The territory around the object is not inhabited, there are no trodden paths, no trampled grass. Therefore, we can safely say that the building is an abandoned building, in which no one has lived for a long time. There are no traces of fire around the building, not even ash.

Later, NSDC Secretary Aleksey Danilov denied Russia’s accusations of shelling the border checkpoint.

“We are fully aware of what is happening. You know that the President of Ukraine has all the issues under control, and we meet daily and inform the President. All security and defense agencies work 24/7. Of course, this is their Russian building, which they set themselves a long time ago, but our military can respond and fire back only if there is a threat to thier life. We do not conduct these attacks, we have nothing to do with them. We warned and now warn that they can fantasize as much as they want, they can do anything and we are ready for it, moreover, the world is ready for it. The desire of the Russian Federation to provoke us into active actions will not work,” Danilov said.

FAKE #3 53 thousand refugees on 142 buses

Acting head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation Alexander Chupriyan said that as of February 21, 53,000 residents of the separate districts of Donetsk and Lugansk regions allegedly crossed the Russian border.

At the same time, according to him, only 142 buses were needed to evacuate such a large number of refugees.

FAKE #4 Severed leg of a civilian

On February 21, Russian propagandists also spread an absolutely ridiculous fake that the Armed Forces of Ukraine had allegedly shelled the settlement of Prishib, where the house was destroyed. At the same time, the man who was in it allegedly had his leg torn off.

However, in the video, which was massively distributed by Russian propaganda, it can be seen that a man, allegedly shaking in hysterics from terrible pain, has a prosthesis instead of a leg.
