Despite the achievement of the “Spring Truce”, the intensity of fire strikes from the Russian occupation forces in the Donbas on the positions of the Ukrainian troops and settlements in the territory controlled by Ukraine remains at a high level. The occupational formations showed the greatest fire activity in the vicinity of Popasnaya-Pervomaisk, the north-western outskirts of Donetsk, including the Yasinovataya-Avdiivka area, in the Mariupol direction, as well as in the northern and south-western suburbs of Gorlovka and in the area of ​​the so-called Svetlodarsk arc.

During the attacks and armed provocations, several features were noted. For example, the occupation forces conduct the bulk of attacks from firing positions located near settlements or directly in it. At the same time, there was a tendency of the enemy fire groups to carry out short fire strikes and quickly change the firing position.

The main reason for the shelling and armed provocations from the occupation forces is the desire of their command to open the firing system of the advanced units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Also, a significant proportion of fire provocations by the occupants are cases of fire support for their special operation teams operating in the “gray” zone, attempts to combat against snipers, spotters and observers of JF units. At the same time, the enemy actively uses mortars, AD systems and armored vehicles, and in some cases the use of 122-mm caliber barrel artillery is also recorded.

In addition, the advanced units of the enemy were reinforced by reconnaissance (sniper) groups, as well as with anti-tank systems and anti-tank guided missiles teams, which were active in the Severodonetsk and Mariupol directions. Active activity of the enemy’s sniper and maneuverable EW groups continues along the entire contact line.

During the last week period (April 6-12, 2019), the following activities were recorded in the operational grouping of the Russian occupying forces in the Donbas:

– The enemy’s on-duty artillery crews were in a state of constant combat readiness for inflicting fire strikes against the JF combat orders. They were trained daily for identifying and tracking conditional targets at the Pokrovsky and Udaloy training grounds, using the UAV Orlan-10 (made in Russia) as an air target, as well as false artillery positions were equipped;

– According to the unified plan of the Southern Military District of the RF Armed Forces, firing exercises were conducted with artillery, air defense and mortar units of 1^st and 2^nd Army Corps “LDPR” at the Vostochny and Tsentralny training grounds;

– Battalion tactical exercises of the units of 1^st and 2^nd AK “LDPR” are conducted at the “Yuzhny” and “Centralniy” training grounds. As part of the training, the personnel were brought to the “MILITARY DANGER” level of combat readiness;

– At April 7 of this year, servicemen of 2^nd Army Corps “LPR” have conducted a “radio game” with the aim of misleading the JF units for casualties of personnel and equipment during shelling.

The enemy continues to strengthen firing positions along the entire contact line, carries out measures for engineering fortification equipment and masking advanced positions.

To support the activities of units of 1^st and 2^nd Army Corps of the Russian occupation forces, about 2,300 tons of fuel and lubricants were delivered from the territory of Russia (railway station Rovenky and railway station Borisovka). In addition, up to 10 tractors with T-72 tanks and 4 122-mm MLRS Grad were moved from the territory of the Russian Federation.

The preparatory activities in the units of 1^st and 2^nd Army Corps “LDPR” take place for participation in the “military parade on the occasion of the Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War”. In this regard, the movement of weapons and military equipment is fixed. Thus, in the area of the former airport of Lugansk, the invaders (obviously, to participate in the “parade”) transferred various weapons – up to 10 units of T-72 type tanks, a Strela-10/ 10M SAM system battery (6 units) battery of 152-mm howitzer type “Msta-B” (8 units).

In a number of advanced units of the 1^st Army Corps “DPR”, commanders actively disseminate information among the personnel that in the near future some “latest Russian means of fighting against the UAV of Ukrainian troops” should appear on the front line. What exactly is meant by this term – there is no information at the moment. However, judging by the reports of the commanders of the occupying divisions of recent times, “integrated use” of the scheme by the JF – tactical drone plus fire weapons became a serious problem for the enemy. It also draws attention to the fact that such “soothing” statements by the commanders of the occupying units appeared shortly after the end of March of this year, when the Bayraktar TB2 Turkish operational-tactical attack UAV was successfully tested in the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The internal documents of the 1^st Army Corps “DPR” headquarters state the fact that as a result of the dismissal of “trained personnel” from the ranks of the occupation forces, a rather difficult situation arose in “units” due to the absence or deficit of trained and professional mortar gunners ., it is proposed to the commanders, which are responsible for combat training of “replenishment”, to pay attention to the priority training of this particular category of professionals, both from among the “newcomers” and from the number of military personnel of other specialties.

At the same time, in the “DPR” and “LPR”, there were rumors among the officials of the occupation administrations of the middle level that in the autumn of this year “We will have another election”, implying the participation of the occupied territories in the parliamentary elections in Ukraine. They recommend to their friends to “restore Ukrainian documents.” At the moment, it is not clear whether it is a question of the broad involvement of the inhabitants of the occupied territories in elections on the unoccupied territory of Ukraine, or of holding those directly in the “LDPR” with the aim of electing their representatives to the Parliament of Ukraine.  

There is an exacerbation of the problem of providing the population with food In the “LPR”, primarily meat products. Thus, two of the largest “state-owned” enterprises of the food industry are in a state of crisis – the state unitary enterprise “Markets of LPR” and the state enterprise “SSS Narodny” (a network of social supermarkets), which most food suppliers refuse to cooperate with. The reason is in the low purchase prices and the debt for the supplied goods accumulated by these enterprises (as of the beginning of April of this year – about 10 million rubles).
