Operational data of the group “Information Resistance”
The Russian occupation forces in the Donbass systematically violated the ceasefire during the last week. The units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine noted low intensity shelling every day from the enemy’s side. In total, the units of 1st and 2nd of the Army Corps of the operational group of Russian occupation forces carried out about 30 fire assaults (last week 20) from 82/120-mm mortars, 122 mm portable MLRS Grad-P, BMP and tanks during this period.
The enemy most intensively attacked the positions of the Ukrainian troops near Troitskoe, Luganskoye, Novoaleksandrovka, Avdeevka, Peski, Kamenka, Butovka, Novotroitskoye, Pavlopol, Lebedinskoe and Shirokino. In addition, the enemy fired the units of AFU from small arms year in the Stanitsa Luganskaya area on January 31, which is a violation of the agreement on the separation of forces in this area.
The enemy continues to actively conduct reconnaissance of the combat formations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with the use of UAVs. During the week, about 15 UAV flights were recorded, including 2 of them – flights of UAV Orlan-10, which were carried out with a flight to the operational and tactical depth of the defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The main efforts of the command of 1st and 2nd Army Corps of the operational grouping of the Russian occupation forces were focused on maintaining the combat readiness of troops, engineering equipment of the terrain, carrying out planned measures for combat training, and checking the situation in subordinate units. Duty artillery squads of the enemy are in a state of constant readiness to strike a fire at the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and daily training is conducted on the issues of deployment and access to advanced firing positions for fire strikes.
Within the winter training period, the enemy intensively conducts combat training activities on the Centralny, Udaloy, Udarny and Primorskiy training ranges in order to synchronize the actions of units during offensive operations.
In order to prevent the representatives of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission from registering the facts of the violation of the Minsk agreements, the command of “1st Army Corps DNR” and “2nd Army Corps LNR” imposed restrictions on the movement of military equipment and took additional measures to camouflage. In addition, the commanders of the units and subunits in whose area of responsibility the representatives of the OSCE CMM are planning to stay are categorically ordered to ban fire on the contact line with the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The commissions under the leadership of the RF Armed Forces officers began operating in units and subunits of the 1st and 2nd Army Corps in order to check the readiness and quality of the work carried out on armored equipment with additional means of protection against the FGM-148 Javelin.
Command of 1st and 2nd Army Corps sent out an order to the subordinate units and units prescribing that “servicemen” who expressed a desire to quit the “military service” should to serve in advanced positions for at least one month before the dismissal.
Confirmed losses of Russian occupation forces in the Donbass amounted to 15 people in the period from January 30 to February 5 this year:
1st Army Corps – 9th separate assault mechanized regiment of naval infantry (Novoazovsk) – 9 servicemen, 3rd separate mechanized brigade (Gorlovka) – 2 servicemen, 11th separate mechanized regiment (Makeyevka) – 1 serviceman, 100th separate mechanized brigade (Donetsk) – 1 serviceman;
2nd Army Corps – 4th separate mechanized brigade (Alchevsk) – 1 serviceman, 7th separate mechanized brigade (Bryanka) – 1 serviceman.
To ensure the activities of “1st Army Corps DNR” and “2nd Army Corps LNR”, about 1000 tons of petroleum products were delivered to the railway station Rovenky and Ilovaysk from the territory of Russia in the period from January 31 to February 6 this year. Also, a railway train with military equipment (including 12 units of BMP-2) and personnel (up to 200 servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and Russian mercenaries) arrived to the Donetsk. For the needs of the 2nd Army Corps, a large consignment of engineering assets arrived from the Russian Federation, including mines, remote mining equipment and etc. (in total – up to 5 trucks).
In the vicinity of the Gorlovka settlement, the command of the occupiers continues to strengthen its 3rd separate mechanized brigade. During the last 24 hours, two columns of vehicles and armored vehicles proceeded through Sofiyivka, Magistralnaya Street and Gorlovka Division Street – at least 8 BMP-1/2, 5 BTR-70/ 80, 4 MT-LB, 1 BRDM-2, 2 self-propelled guns (type not identified), as well as up to 10 units of various trucks (Ural, Kamaz, 2 GAZ-66).
A redeployment of the mobile command post of the occupiers through the Torez was recorded in the direction Makeevka-Donetsk. A column of trucks and command vehicles was observed (up to 10 units), and 2 BTR-70/80, 1 BRM-1K and 2 MT-LB, 1 ZU-23-2 AD system. Obviously, the invaders are strengthening their own combat orders to the north of Donetsk.
The invaders are strengthening their units near the Nizhnee Lozovoe. 5 BMP-1/2 and MT-LB with ZU-23-2 AD systems were transferred to the positions in this area through the “Cross” near Debaltsevo.
The units of occupants, which are occupying positions in the area of height 206.9 at Novaya Laspa and Belaya Kamenka, are strengthened with armored vehicles. During the last 24 hours, the arrival of 5 units of BMP-1/2 was noted.
In accordance with the decree of the leader of the “DNR” A. Zakharchenko (signed in October 2017), a new armed militia structure is being formed under the name “Azov Cossack Army of the DNR” in a number of settlements under the control of the “DNR”. “Initial meetings” of the new “Cossack” formation are noted in a number of cities in the south of the occupied territories of the Donetsk region. (Torez, Amvrosievka, Starobeshevo, Telmanovo). There is an extremely low level of desire of local residents to join a new formation, so the organizers are trying to attract foreign mercenaries who “left” their service in the occupation forces and for whatever reasons remaining in the “DNR”. For example, the head of the local formation of the “Cossacks of the DNR” in Torez is Ossetian. At the moment, the total number of “Cossacks” of the “Azov Cossack Army of the DNR” is up to 150 people.
An outbreak of venereal diseases was noted in the “1st separate mechanized brigade” of the occupation troops. In total, more than a dozen infected “servicemen” were recorded. A service investigation is under way.
The verification commission ascertained a significant lack of hemostatic means and dressings in two separate mechanized brigades of the “1st Army Corps DNR”, including in the advanced units. The information is carefully hidden from the militants themselves in order to avoid the fall of the already extremely low level of the moral and psychological state of the personnel.
In the “DNR”, a large-scale information campaign continues to disperse misinformation about the “forthcoming offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine”. The given information passes not only in social networks and media controlled by the invaders, but also in classified intelligence reports of the “1st Army Corps DNR”. In particular, it is reported about “the arrival of additional Ukrainian troops in the Mariupol area”, “the deployment of two tank brigades of AFU at the south and north of Donetsk”, “the appearance of American advisers, instructors at Gorlovka,” and etc. In a number of cases they publish hastily and absolutely illiterate from the military point of view, “military orders,” “maps” and “plans” of the Ukrainian General Staff. The true purpose of this campaign (an attempt to mobilize the local population or the information cover of the armed provocations being prepared by the invaders) is currently unknown.
