IR summary: the commander of the 8th Army of the RF Armed Forces took a decision on the results of the audit of 1st Army Corps DNR and 2nd Army Corps LNR

Operational data of the group “Information Resistance”

Over the past week, there has been an increase in the activity of Russian occupation forces in the Donbas, amid the Kremlin’s statements about the “unacceptability” of a full-scale peacekeeping mission, which allegedly contradicts the Minsk agreements. Occupants are used 82/120-mm mortars, 122-mm portable MLRS Grad-P, infantry fighting vehicles and tanks for shelling.

The most intense fire strikes were inflicted by the enemy on the positions of Ukrainian troops near the settlements of the Crimean, Novoaleksandrovka, Trekhizbenka, Novotoshkovskoe, Peski, Avdeevka, Marinka, Pavlopol, Vodyanoe and Shirokino. In addition, the enemy intensified the activities of its snipers in the Donetsk direction.

There is a slight decrease in the intensity of the enemy’s air reconnaissance of the combat orders of the AFU with the use of UAV, with flights to the operational-tactical depth of the defense of Ukrainian troops. At the same time, there is an increase in the activities of the enemy’s special operations teams (in particular, in the zone of responsibility of the OTC “Donetsk”) in order to disclose the combat orders of the AFU, as well as conduct reconnaissance and sabotage actions in the territory controlled by the Ukrainian troops.

By the decision of the commander of the 8th Army of the Southern Military District of the Russian Armed Forces, in connection with identification of the mass theft of weapons, ammunition, financial and logistical equipment in 1st Army Corps DNR and 2nd Army Corps LNR by the commission of the headquarters of the 8th Army (conducted under the supervision of the Chief of Staff – First Deputy Commander of the Army Major-General O. Tsekov), it was decided to continue the work of the commission, and to include in its composition the deputy commander of the 8th Army of the Russian Armed Forces for the work with the personnel of Colonel O. Kanchur. He is tasked with checking the effectiveness of measures aimed at strengthening military discipline, law and order, as well as the moral and psychological state of the personnel of 1st Army Corps DNR and 2nd Army Corps LNR.

In order to resolve the acute “personnel” problem in 1st Army Corps DNR and 2nd Army Corps LNR and centralized replenishment of units and subunits of the occupation troops in the Donbass by junior command personnel, the Russian occupation command organized short-term training courses of sergeants on the territory of the so-called “Donetsk Higher Combined Arms Command School AF DNR” (Donetsk city of Kuprina street 1).

At the same time, the leadership of the “DNR” is trying to complete several “separate battalions” of so-called “Republican Guard of the DNR” by the “free recruitment” method, using directly “servicemen” of these units. In particular, by order of the command, the “servicemen” of these “battalions” sharply intensified their activity in social networks with calls to “go to service”, actively attend educational institutions and various institutions of the “DNR”, meeting with collectives and conducting recruiting work.

In addition, synchronously in the command of the 1st Army Corps DNR and 2nd Army Corps LNR, the possibility of establishment a “military conscription” is again discussed (the last such active discussions were recorded in February-March of this year). The main counterargument to the introduction of the establishment a “military conscription”  is the political considerations of the DNR and LNR leadership, but against the backdrop of the permanently worsening problem of the incompleteness of units (desertion, irreplaceable and sanitary losses), a number of commanders in both “Army Corps” demand to resolve this issue.

The occupational command actively conducts another information campaign of propagandistic nature among the residents of the occupied territories of Donetsk and Lugansk regions involving Russian and local media aimed at discrediting the activities of the policy of the top Ukrainian leadership and the Armed Forces of Ukraine, accusing them of carrying out “aggressive policy” and “war crimes” attitude towards the “peaceful population of Donbass”. To discredit the Ukrainian authorities and to “confirm” its alleged “illegitimacy”, information about protest actions in Kiev, held from October 17, 2017, is also actively used.

1st Army Corps – 9th separate mechanized regiment of Marine Corps (Novoazovsk) 2 people, 3rd separate mechanized brigade (Gorlovka) 1 person, 5th separate mechanized brigade (Makeyevka) 2 people, 11th separate mechanized regiment (Makeyevka) 1 person;

2nd Army Corps – 6th separate mechanized regiment (Kadievka) 1 person, 2nd separate mechanized brigade (Lugansk) 1 person.

To ensure the terrorist activity of the units and formations 1st Army Corps DNR and 2nd Army Corps LNR, about 2500 tons of fuel (railway station Rovenky and Krasnaya Mogila) and 200 tons of ammunition (railway station Khartsyzk) were delivered from the territory of Russia for a week period.

In Donetsk, Gorlovka, Yenakiyevo, Makeyevka, the leadership of the local structural divisions of the MGB of the DNR put forward stringent demands on employees to search for representatives of the Ukrainian underground, which are distributing leaflets of pro-Ukrainian content. Previously conducted “MGB” events of this kind were unsuccessful, which causes severe criticism from the curators of the FSB of the Russian Federation. The last mass distribution of leaflets with pro Ukrainian content was recorded on the Day of the defender of Ukraine (14.10.2017).

According to the information from so-called “The Supreme Court of the DNR”, 60,558 court cases and materials proceeded by “courts of general jurisdiction of the DNR” during 9 months in 2017. During the same period, almost 50,000 cases and materials were presided (82% of the total amount).

REFERENCE: The formation of the “judicial system of the DNR” was launched in the fall of 2014 with the creation of “courts of general jurisdiction” and “arbitration court of the DNR”, which started their activities on the basis of the resolution of the “Council of Ministers of the DNR” of 22.10.2014. The first 44 judges were appointed to posts by decrees of the “head of the DNR” A. Zakharchenko №№ 2, 3 of 09.01.2015. Another 24 judges “took the oath” in the middle of June of this year.
