03.05.2017 – Operational data of group “Information Resistance”
In the vicinity of Donetsk, the command of Russian-terrorist forces conducts an active reinforcement of units, which are operating in the Kiev and Kuibyshev districts of the city. At least 10 units of various BWMs have redeployed to the Spartak district within the last 3 days, including BMP-2, BRDM-2 and MT-LB, as well as a combined infantry unit numbering up to the platoon.
A redeployment of the electronic warfare unit (EW) of the RF Armed Forces was noted in the area of the Artemida (Donetsk). 6 trucks with live power and equipment and 2 BTR-80 were also marked as a part of the convoy with the EW complex (previously – Mandat-B1E).
The equipment of the new positions for heavy mortars (120 mm) by the occupiers is marked at the north of Dokuchaevsk (the district of Molodezhnoe settlement). The main and reserve fire positions are simultaneously equipped, carefully disguised. Civil engineering equipment (excavators) is used during earthworks.
In the area of Kalinovo, the enemy continues to equip the fortified area, improving it in engineering terms, there are new areas for heavy infantry armament and several engineering structures such as the log pill-box. Taking into account that the strengthened battalion tactical group of the 2nd Army Corps LNR was deployed to the east of this region, and in the area of Almaznaya and Bryanka – the tactical reserve of the enemy in the form of another battalion, it is possible to admit 2 options – or the occupants are preparing for active actions towards Troitskoe – Mironovka, or they are afraid of the impact of Ukrainian troops on Kadievka (former Stakhanov) via Almaznaya.
The movements of armored vehicles of Russian-terrorist troops (2nd Army Corps LNR) are recorded in the area of Christovo – Oboznoe – Veselyaya Gora. In particular, from the ledge between Veselyaya Gora (opposite Schastye settlement) and Pankovka, the invaders pulled back the separate BBMs from the front line to the second echelon. There was a movement of several units of BMP and BRM-1K (as well as cargo trucks) in the direction of Svetloye and Stukalova Balka. The reason for such displacements of enemy armored vehicles is currently unknown.
North of Yasinovataya, on the section between Mikhailovka and Betmanovo (former Krasny Partisan), a new mobile fire group of the enemy is appeared. This group consists of 4 trucks Ural with 82-mm and 120-mm mortars (trailer), 1 MT-LB, and civilian Kamaz with a red cab is used to deliver ammunition.
The command of the 1st Army Corps DNR again raised the issue of the formation of a “full” Azov Flotilla DNR, the creation of which the invaders said back in May 2015. Initially, it included five fishing boats and pleasure boats, which were called “battle boats”, and then combat composition of the flotilla was brought up to 7 of these “combat boats”. The points of basing were determined by the Novoazovsk (main base), Sedovo and Bezymyannoe. In early 2016, the leadership of the DNR led negotiations with the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation about the transfer of 3 units Russian patrol boats of the project 12150 “Mongoose” and 1 unit new border patrol boat project 12200 “Sobol” to the flotilla. Then the negotiations ended without effect. Now, the Russian command has promised that 4 patrol boats will be transferred to the DNR already during May-June 2017. About which types of boats the Russian military leadership says, at the moment it is not known.
The command of the Center for Territorial Troops of the Southern Military District of the RF Armed Forces ordered the command of the 1st Army Corps DNR and the 2nd Army Corps LNR to submit their proposals on the development of a new scheme for supplying units and subunits of both Corps with ammunition and fuel. At the same time, it is pointed out that it is necessary to create a ramified network of warehouses for ammo and fuel, avoiding their excessive accumulation in certain places. In particular, the Russian command is confident that Ukrainian military intelligence has a branched intelligence-sabotage network and quickly uncovers the location of newly equipped warehouses (examples of sabotage on such types of objects or attempts of such ones during the last year are given). Therefore, it is prescribed to avoid the creation of large warehouses. At the same time, the supply scheme, which created in 2016, demonstrated complete inefficiency during the winter escalation of conflict (with the epicenter in the Avdeevka area) when the units of the invaders exhausted ammunition stocks in the course of intensive bombardments in just a few days, after which they were supplied by “just-in-time system” from RF.
The leadership of the MGB of the DNR draws the attention of its employees to the frequent cases of attempts by special services of Ukraine and its intelligence agencies to organize disorders and unauthorized actions by personnel of nationalized factories on the eve of the Great Victory Day. With the aim of removing the social tension and removing the pre-conditions for successful actions of the Ukrainian special services, the leadership of the MGB offers the leadership of the DNR to pay at least in part the salaries and social payments for this category of citizens on the eve of May 9. At the same time, the leadership of the MGB DNR set its task to conduct intensive monitoring of citizens’ attitudes and attempts to organize disorders (including using the Internet) and conduct preventive measures.
In Rostov-on-Don (RF), under the supervision of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation, a forum of media companies of the LNR and DNR was held on the following topics: development of youth Internet media, photojournalism and print media. A formal initiator of the forum was a group of deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation. In reality, the forum is a continuation of the series of events of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation (the previous one of this kind was held in mid-February 2017) to expand targeted disinformation and propaganda activities and train journalists of the LNR and DNR in basic methods of information warfare against Ukraine. This time the training of the FSB of the Russian Federation was aimed at providing information and psychological impact on the young audience, including children. The main theses of the forum: improving the information resistance of the Ukrainian media in covering the situation in the Donbass with an orientation towards young people and teenagers. Representatives of the main television channels of the DNR (Novorossiya, Oplot, etc.) and streamers that work for Russian and pro-Russian media resources in the Donbass were sent to participate in the forum.
