Operational data from IR group

During the unending gunfire, Russian-terrorist forces in the Donbas began to strike more actively at neighborhoods of residential buildings and at infrastructure facilities in the region, trying to provoke a retaliatory fire of Ukrainian troops from heavy weapons.

The invaders are most active in the seaside sector. In the area from Pavlopol to Shirokino, the enemy massively and intensively uses 120 mm and 82 mm mortars. To the north of Shirokino and along the western outskirts of Pikuza (Kominternovo), it was fighting with small groups of militants (up to 10 people).  Near Shirokino, these groups were supported by a pair of BMP-2s, which arrived from the western outskirts of Sakhanka. Active strikes from 122-mm artillery were conducted at the advanced positions of the ATO forces in south-east of Vodyanoe, along Vodyanoe, east of Talakivka, Lomakino and Pavlopol. Across the whole front, occupants actively used small arms (including heavy machine guns), heavy mounted and hand-held grenade launchers. Twice the enemy used anti-aircraft artillery systems ZU-23-2 on this site.

In the area of Dokuchaevsk (north-western outskirts, the area of the industrial zone and rock dumps) the occupants fired by 120-mm mortars at positions of ATO forces in the east of the Mariupol-Donetsk route. Also they actively used heavy mounted grenade launchers AGS and heavy machine guns.

It was fire covering with 82-mm mortars in the Maryinka area. A group of militants from side of the Urozhaynaya street tried to shorten the distance and suddenly fire from the automatic weapons, machine guns and hand-held grenade launchers to the UAF position in the area of boarding school. They were fling back by a dense small arms fire of a battle outpost.

A similar situation is in the northern edge of Spartak. The incoming reinforcement (see the previous reports of the IR group), in the form of groups of occupiers (each up to 10 people), does not stop attempts to enter the flank of the UAF positions in the area of Opytnoe and to the south for the purpose of sudden firing.

It was the shelling of the positions of the UAF with 120 mm mortars and heavy mounted grenade launchers AGS-17 and SPG in the area south of Tsarskaya Okhota (Sobornaya Street, ring route). The sporadic impacts from 122-mm artillery were fixed between Butovka mine and junction of ring route.

Avdeevka – active shelling from 120-mm and 82-mm mortars along Yasinovsky Lane and Staraya Avdeevka. “Industrial zone” – small and medium-range fights (the enemy used a full range of infantry weapons, as well as BMP-2). Also was fixed the fire of several BTR-70/80 from a long distance.

From the side of Vasilievka, the occupants fired by 82-mm mortars on the positions of the ATO forces in the Kamenka area and east. Throughout the site from Avdeevka and north to Majororsk and Zaitsevo it was gunfire of the invaders from small arms, occasionally – from the heavy mounted grenade launchers. The episodic shelling from 152-mm artillery was behind Zhovanka. Several shells lay along the north-western edge of this settlement. Novoluganskoe – fire from small arms and heavy mounted grenade launchers AGS.

In the area of the Svetlodarskaya arc from the enemy side – permanent shelling from 82-mm and 120-mm mortars. Single BMP-1/2 fired from pre-prepared positions twice. At the east of Troitskoe were episodic shootings from small arms and 82-mm mortars.

Active shelling was on the Novozvanovka-Katerynivka area with use 120-mm mortars. Several 122-mm artillery fire was conducted at east of Novozvanovka and small arms fire at Popasnaya. From the Molodezhnoe, militants tried to cover the positions of the UAF north-west of the height of 270.4 with a dense fire of machine guns and anti-aircraft artillery systems ZU-23-2.

From the positions in the area of Prishib and the Krasniy Liman, the occupiers actively fired at the neutral zone in the side to the south of the Trekhizbenka with 120-mm mortars and heavy mounted grenade launchers, including SPG and AGS. Near the Zheltoe, it was fixed the engagement of snipers, small arms and 82-mm mortars. The night firing from the AGS-s and heavy machine guns was marked near Stanitsa Luganskaya.

The artillery unit of the 3rd separate mechanized brigade of invaders (five 122-mm self-propelled guns 2S1 “Gvozdika”, two multi-purpose light-armored towing vehicle MT-LB and four truks Kamaz) departed at the back of Enakievo in the northeast direction to the positions between Uglegorsk and Kalinovka. In connection with this redeployment, we should expect more active use of artillery by the invaders in the area of the right flank of the Svetlodarskaya arc.

The movement of the units of the invaders in the western part of Donetsk continues to be fixed. Four trucks Kamaz with personnel drived through Putilovka to Spartak. Armored vehicles were maneuvered in the vicinity of the Donetsk-Severny railway station across the road and in the area of Privokzalnaya Street and cottage estate. At least two groups were noted – 3 tanks along the railway and 2 tanks and 2 BMP-2 to the north of railway station. These armored groups use by the invaders to shell the Butovka mine and the positions of the UAF to the south. In the Budennovskiy district of Donetsk, 4 fuel trucks arrived with fuel for the needs of the 5th separate mechanized brigade of invaders. On the Ring Road, the invaders sent reinforcements to the Petrovsky district of Donetsk. Three trucks (1 Ural and 2 Kamaz) with personnel, one BTR-70 and one BTR-80 moved toward Alexandrovka. It is probably a defensive unit or reserve group.

The Russian occupation forces are actively strengthening the left flank of their Kadiev (Stakhanov) grouping in the southeast of Veselogorovka. The new firing positions of 122mm artillery guns (six 122mm howitzers D-30A) are marked. The redeployment of light armored vehicles (at least 5 BMP-1 / MT-LB) was marked in the east of Almaznaya.

In the seaside direction, invaders are equipping the latest positions in the gill to the south of Khreshchatytskoe (formerly Krasnoarmeyskoye). According to preliminary data, we are talking about positions for artillery (reserve positions or positions for repair). Apparently, the Russian command assumes a maneuver with artillery, which now “works” along the forward edge of the ATO forces in the seaside direction.

Several units of the 1st Army Corps DNR began to receive 120-mm towed artillery gun of the type 2B16 “Nona-K” in small shipments (4-5 units). In particular, the injections of these guns are fixed in the 1st separate mechanized brigade and 5th separate mechanized brigade of the 1st Army Corps DNR. According to the plans of the Russian command, the occupation troops in the Donbass should gradually convert from 120mm mortars to a more active use of this type of guns. As a specific of the design features, the 2B16 “Nona-K” actually combines the capabilities of mortar, cannon and howitzers. The enemy’s use of these guns was noted earlier, but on a rather limited scale.

In area of the settlement Chistyakovo (formerly Torez) and Mospino, occupants intensively conduct battle coordination of at least 2 RTGs (company tactical groups). According to available information, one of them will be deployed to the level of the battalion tactical group in the future. There is a presence of instructors from among the regular servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in these training centers.

The conflict between the representatives of the Russian “Cossacks” from the Velikoe voysko Donskoe and the leadership of the LNR continues to develop in the occupied areas of the Lugansk region. Ataman of the Velikoe voysko Donskoe N.Kozitsyn gave instructions to the leaders of the Cossack units, which are stationed in the Antracit, Rovenky and Alchevsk, to collect signatures of local residents under the petition for mistrusting to the Head of the LNR I.Plotnitsky.

The territory of the DNR was visited by a “working group” from Moscow, which studied the financial and economic and social situation at the “nationalized” factories, primarily from the Metinvest financial group R. Akhmetov (Enakievo Metallurgical Plant, Enakievo Koksokhimprom, Makeevsky Metallurgical Plant, Khartsyzsk Tube Plant, Komsomolskoye Rudoupravlenie, Krasnodonugol, Donetskkoks and etc.). Russian specialists were recommended to the heads of “nationalized” factories with the purpose of taking preventive measures to prevent a possible social explosion to send information about the situation in the work collectives to the “Staff for Monitoring the Social Situation in Collectives of Factories” (Donetsk, Pushkin Blvd., 7-b, office center). Also, the “working group” noted that at present most of the employees rely on Russian support on the background of a lack of understanding of the prospects for the development of their factories. At the same time, a significant part of the employees of the “nationalized” enterprises remain pro-Ukrainian and seeing the prospects for the development of Donbass industry only within Ukraine. Therefore, the Russian “inspectors” are recommended to intensify the work of the MGB of the DNR at these factories.

The reinforcement of the activity of the Russian public organization “National Liberation Movement” (NOD) is recorded in the temporarily occupied territory of the Lugansk region. According to the leadership of the organization, its leader is V.Putin. In particular, the representatives of this organization conduct activities to recruit young people from the LNR to join the NOD with the providing of financial and humanitarian assistance to youth organizations and sport clubs. According to the report of the MGB of the Lugansk People’s Republic to the leadership of the LNR, the activities of the NOD are carried out “with the aim of removal out or weakening the influence” of the youth organizations “Association of Youth of Lugansk Region” and “Young Guard” of I.Plotnitsky. At the same time, the leadership of the LNR demonstrates the unwillingness to take any measures to restrict the activities of the NOD in LNR.
