Operational data from Information Resistance:
During the day, militants opened point-blank fire from small arms in the direction of Artemivsk, and from rocket-propelled grenade launchers – in the Donetsk and Mariupol directions. No actual clashes between units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Russian-terrorist forces were recorded.
Information is circulating among the Russian troops in the Donbas that a general rotation will be held in October. Military personnel who have experience in combat operations against the ATO [anti-terrorism operation] forces, will be sent to fight in Syria.
A division of servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, which was based in the Southern Train Terminal of Donetsk, has been fully withdrawn to the territory of the Russian Federation.
The so-called “Republican Guard of the DNR [“Donetsk Peoples’ Republic”]” has been disbanded. Russian mercenaries that fought as part of it are currently trying to flee to Russia, expressing extreme dissatisfaction concerning the non-payment of their salaries ever since July. Representatives of the so-called “Republican Guard of the DNR” – callsigns “Chekist” and “Talib[an]”– have been declared “wanted” for looting and embezzlement.
The DNR leader Aleksandr Zakharchenko is creating an armed gang “assault battalion,” the “Somali Battalion,” which will be directly subordinate to him. A terrorist, callsign “Givi” [aka Mikhail Tolstykh] is appointed the commander of the newly formed illegal armed group.
Clashes over spheres of influence on the territory of the “DNR” are noted between gangs. The so-called “Prosecutor’s Office” and “MSS” [“Ministry of State Security”] of the “DNR” continue initiating criminal proceedings against local terrorists and Russian mercenaries (it is forbidden to institute criminal proceedings against soldiers of the Russian Army). In the ranks of the illegal armed groups, there has been a sharp decline in discipline, rampant alcohol abuse, and use of weapons in a state of intoxication, which have resulted in civilian casualties.
At terrorist checkpoints, there are multiple facts of “confiscation” of property from persons traveling to or returning from Ukraine-controlled areas. In Horlivka, members of an illegal armed gang forcibly took a car trailer from a civilian, while in the area of Novoazovsk terrorists took a minibus from local citizens, badly beating its owners in the process.
The “MSS” [“Ministry of State Security] and the “Prosecutor’s Office” are soft-pedaling the “investigation” of the murder of 3 locals by militants of the so-called “Motorized Infantry Regiment, 1st Army Corps of the DNR 1” in the area of Novoazovsk. Meanwhile, people continue to disappear in the Novoazovsk region.
An armored group of terrorists (18 BMP-2 [IFVs] and MT-LB, 8 tanks) took up positions near the town of Oktyabr;
Another armored group of militants (8 BMD [assault infantry vehicles] and 4 tanks) transferred to the vicinity of Sakhanka, between Bezimenne and Novoazovsk. The positions of the armored group have been camouflaged.
East of Krasnyi Luch, the positions of militant artillery batteries of 2S3 “Akatsiya” were noted (6 self-propelled guns, as well as 2 MT-LB [multipurpose transporter truck] and 5 military trucks). Previously, this division was deployed as part of the armored group near Novofedorivka (the MLRS “Grad” battery was left here).
The militants who received training on the “training field” near Perevalsk were sent in the direction of Oleksandrivka [Luhansk] on board of 10 trucks. Ten armored combat vehicles used during the “training” were sent towards Lutuhyne (while 5 more ACVs remained on the “training field”).
Repairs of equipment (tanks, self-propelled guns, armored combat vehicles) for the so-called “people’s militia of the LNR” [“Luhansk Peoples Republic”]” are carried out on the facilities of the former “Aggregate” plant (Krasnodon, Luhansk region). The employees are hired from the locals, and paid a salary of $350-450 US dollars [per month].
In Luhansk and Stakhanov, the “LNR MSS” [Ministry of State Security] are conducting “filtering measures” in order to identify “spies” who came from the territory controlled by Ukraine.
