According to IR data, Russian media covering the events in Eastern Ukraine, once again resorted to the distortion of facts and the use of videos from many years ago which have no relation to the ongoing anti-terrorist operation [ATO].
Just today, on June 12, 2014, Russian media reported that the Ukrainian security forces allegedly used phosphorous bombs against the civilian population. In support of this [allegation] Russian TV has used footage shot in 2004 in the city of Fallujah, Iraq – (video)
In addition, Russian media recently reported on alleged facts of Ukrainian forces use of multiple launch rocket systems “Grad” against the peaceful population.
This information is also not true. There is not a single documented fact of the ATO’s use of the “Grad” system.
All of these speculations are all the more surprising, given that Russian troops used “Grad” systems for targeted attacks on cities of Chechnya. As a result, tens of thousands of civilians were killed. These facts are well known to the world community, they are recorded in numerous photo and video materials.
